DAC38RF80: sysref capture statistics usage

Part Number: DAC38RF80

Hello,

I'm trying to understand how to use the SYREF capture circuit statistics described in the DAC38RF80 datasheet.  In our design, we use an LMK04280 to drive the device clock and sysref for the DAC38RF80.

What are the minimum configuration steps I need in order to use the SYSREF captures statistics in registers Page 0: 0x79 and 0x7A?  For example, I am currently writing 0x1802 to register 0x24 in Page 4, but I always see 0x79 contain 0x00 and 0x7A contain 0xff00.  I don't know if these are because those are the actual valid statistics or if I have not set up the capture circuit correctly.  Can this capture be done no matter what state the DAC38RF80 is in?

Can you recommend a sequence of register operations that I can use to ensure I'm using the SYSREF capture mechanism correctly?

Matt
