Hi,
I am trying to configure the GC 5330 chip to work with the SCBP board + TSW 3725 configuration. However I could not understand how to activate GC 5330, although Azcom has supported me some example scripts for LTE. Can anyone guide me on this subject?
Best Regards,
ilke
Hello,
The GC5330 configuration is based on what air interface standard is being transmitted, the mode of operation of the BB interface for the GC5330, and the TSW 3725. The configuation of the GC5330 is based on having a prebuilt GC5330 configuration with these specifications, and following the sequence:
a) apply power, force JTAG reset, force RESET active
b) when power is OK, release RESET
c) apply DPDClock, SyncA, Baseband Clock Tx, Baseband Frame Tx, Baseband data can be zero
d) using the API load the TGTCFG register programming
e) as part of this API, there is a DSP synchronization sequence, and small register test
f) other configuration APIs are needed for the DSP to know the intended DPD mode of operation and antenna configuration GCNUMMAP, SPCONFIG
g) other configuration changes TxBBgain, TxDDUCNCO, TxSumChainControl, SumchainGain / PreCFRGain / PostCFRGain, CFR Filter Control, are needed to setup the Tx carriers, and Gain, any user calibration is computed and loaded
h) the DPD Controls are setup for the complex and real signal rates, the DPD mode and values
i) there are Interval power meter, and Capture buffer setup APIs, the user sets up the Forward Tx Gain RF attenuation, and balances the feedback power DPDI, SFBI-EQ
note some of the feedback attenuation adjustments are external to the DPD DSP
j) the time alignment is performed, if the delay is within range, DPD can be started
k) you can monitor the DPD Status and error stack for information
Note if the original question is how to modify the Azcom board configuration for a different BBset of data, and TGTCFG, please contact your support TI DSP engineer, and Azcom. You can contact jshu@ti.com for the initially provided TGTCFG information.

Radio Joe
Thanks for your quick response. Firstly I think I should further clarify my question a bit. I intend to initialize and configure GC 5330 and Azcom has supported me with a tar file named GC. It contains 5 files;
dpdbios6.bin
gc5330hostapp.dat
HPM_2antx1x20LTE_v2.tgtcfg
startupscript.dat
x.json.
I could not clearly understand what you have meant by "the API". Is there an available API for GC5330? I could provide you the files if you think it'd be more convenient. Thanks in advance.
The startupscript.dat contains the calls that are necessary (i.e. APIs) that were referred to. The gc5330hostapp.dat is the executable that is running on the ARM processor. So you should only need to start the gc5330hostapp.dat and then "exec startupscript.dat" to have the gc5330 configured properly.
You should contact Azcom directly since they are responsible to support on the SCBP boards. If they cannot answer the question, then we will help them.
I have followed the steps that you have described, but I have encountered with an error. Azcom did not provide me with a sufficient answer yet, and if you could help me I would be grateful. I have given the error below. Thanks in advance.
Total errors for the command: 1_____________________________28.325: L1 E=37 at 16sDPD_TGTCFG_WR failed with status -1.Load GC configuration error!$summer_gainw 1 1 -6#cfr_gainw 1 1 2 -6$summer_mapw 1 0 0x1$summer_mapw 1 1 0
that specific error is a warm pll error. This means that either the clocks to the GC are wrong or not present. Please contact Azcom on how to properly start up the system with the TSW3725 and the FPGA that is onboard the SCBP. All those have to be setup first before the GC software can be started. I am not familiar enough with what they release so you should again contact Azcom.
Hey,
Thanks for your support, I will contact Azcom as you have suggested from now. THanks for clarifying this problem for me.
Dear ilke,
Could you solve the issue? How? I am having exactly the same problem as you had.
Guillermo.
Dear Guillermo,
I could not solve the issue, and since we couldn't afford spending any more time on this we implemented another solution that does not involve GC5330. I hope you have solved the issue.
P.S: If you could please let me know, I am planning to work on that issue a few months later.
