Longest Range Radio Transmitter

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TRF3705, AFE7225

I'm looking for a SOC (doesn't have to be) with the longest radio transmission range.   Does anyone have any suggestions on what chip would be best suited for this?  I've found a couple that suit my needs from TI, but they're not yet available for purchase.

Thank you!

  • Hello

The digital radio products, currently need data converters and IF or RF ICs.  There are specific RF components, that can be

evaluated at different RF frequencies.  The TRF3705, TRF3711 are the IQ to RF modulator, and demodulator components.  The Transmit power

and modulation, and/or coding, can determine the transmit and noise power.  The receive sensitivity, modulation and/or coding, RF filtering, are also important.  The AFE7225 has a CMOS IF dataconverter (or complex IQ dataconverter), coupled with TRF3705/3711, and suitable RF amplifiers and band select filtering.

There are EVMs that can be used for this discrete RF to DSP solution.  There are future parts that are more integrated, I can't comment on the availability.  There are car-audio bits to RF parts that are also researchable.

These are not digital radio parts.  The AFE7225 is under data converters.  The DSP could be a L138 or similar.  The TRF parts and under RF components.
