GC5016 DUC Input Modes

DUC Input Mode Related

1.How does the DUC (Input mode)splitIQ mode work with the TDM, Parallel IQ  ?

2.  In the 2 channel spiltIQ TDM mode, the order is I  data from channel1, Q from channel 1, I from channel 2 , Q from channel 2.

does that mean  I1 is processed by A port, Q1 by B port, I2 by C port and Q2 by D port ?

DUC Output Mode Related

3. With SplitIQ , no external sumIO full rate IQ mode

What is meant by ABI output on AO port because with SplitIQ mode  I part is processed only by A or C channels then what does ABI mean ?

We assume there is no processing of I component on the B channel in case of splitIQ.

  • Hello

The split IQ mode, uses the A path for I and B path for Q in the first AB channel.

uses the C path for I and D path for Q in the second CD channel.

1 & 2) In the TDM input mode, the data is connected to the A Input port, and the AFS and ACK are used for the external logic timing.

The Split IQ mode TDM order is shown in the IO Modes Application note. the Order is AI, BQ,CI, and DQ.

    3) The DUC output mode, for no sum input, allows for the A and B output port to be the Sum A complex output, and the SumB complex to be the CD output.

    Assuming the parallel IQ output, tout_cmplx = 1, tout_rate = 1.

The tout_nsig = 2 to have separate outputs, channel AB to ABout, and channel CD to CD out.

The tout_nsig = 1 to have the AB and CD summed and output on the AB output port.

The ABI is an abbreviation for AB Inphase which would be the A output.  The ABQ is an abbreviation for AB Quadrature which would be the B output.

The IO Application note has more details about the DUC input and DUC output sections.
