TMS3705- extend antenna

Hi,

 

We need to improve current design use TMS3705- TRANSPONDER BASE STATION IC

Two extension option (between the board with the TMS3705 and the antenna):

  1. 15 meter without any interference electronics (only cable) this is the preferred option, adding supported electronics nearby the TMS3705 (on same board) acceptable.

  2. 2 meter antenna extension and 15 meter TMS3705 digital communication extension

We found the SCBA031 application note and we will learn it

 

We like to ask:

  1. Recommendation for this two options (1,2)

  2. What kind of cable we need to use (Shielded twisted pair, Coax, Traix Cable)?

  3. Do you familiar with of the shelf antenna board?

  4. Application note/ instruction for design the antenna?

  5. Relevant evaluation kits?\

    Shlomi,

    I would certainly recommend option 1. Just to make sure I understand correctly. This would be a 15m cable running from the TMS3705 board to the antenna. With 15m you need to make sure you consider the parasitic capacitance of the cable into your calculation for the resonance cap on the TMS3705 board. Apart from this, this should be no problem.

    Cable to use should be twisted pair.

    LF antennas for the reader side are available of-the-shelf from antenna suppliers.
