RF430F5978 Batteryless operation

Hi,

principal the RF430F5978 need a battery for the MCU and the UHF interface, but when you want to use the RF430F5978 without a battery you need minimum a charging system for load a gold cap. The gold cap would be replace the battery. When the LF power is always on you can charge the gold cap by using LF power.

Is it possible to test this batteryless operation on the RF430F5978EVM ?

How far (distance in meters) from the reader, it is possible to get enough energy to charge the gold cap to power the MCU and UHF interface with the reader included in RF430F5978EVM? Will distance be considerably longer if I use the reader included in EZ430-TMS37157?

Hi,

It's important the distance between reader and RF430F5978EVM is very close (~2-3cm) for get enough energy to charge the gold cap. For further information we need to test the battery less operation.

Isn't it as easy as replace the battery with a super cap? If not, what needs to be done?
