FSCAL1 register of cc2520

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2591, CC2520

Hi,

We have products with cc2520, some of them with the PA/LNA cc2591, and some without.

I'm currently working on reviewing the register settings for these products, and came across the FSCAL1 register.

In the reference manual I have for cc2520, the recommended value is 0x2b (in Table 21, section 28.1 "Register Settings Update")

However in some reference driver software provided by TI, I think, (swrc090b.zip) the value is set to 0x03.

In the app-note (AN065) for cc2520 + cc2591 I cannot find any information for this register specifically for the combination cc2520+cc2591

So my question is, what should be set to with/without cc2591 ? Should I rely on the official value in the manual or the value in the swrc090b software package ? And further, does the combination cc2520 + cc2591 affect this setting ?

I am aware of that writing 0x2b will give 0x03 when read back according to this thread: http://e2e.ti.com/support/wireless_connectivity/f/155/t/129190.aspx

but that does not explain why swrc090b set the register to 0x03 (other than some misunderstanding from the one who wrote the software, by trying to do some "reversed engineering").

Any information on this matter would be appreciated.
