UHF RFID reader PCB antenna

Hi,

Can I use antenna in below link with UHF RFID reader?

Also, can I use any normal UHF antennas for RFID reader application? How are RFID antennas different from normal antennas?

normally for UHF RFID, patch antennas are used (right hand, left hand circular polarized and also linear ones) - difference between these and the antenna you pointed out and others like monopoles, is directivity and handling different tag orientations, which the use case normally is needing.

Generally, RHCP and LHCP antennas will provide interop with tags is various orientations but less range than linear antennas, which will provide very directed longer range operations with tags in one orientation.
