Hi,
I am working on a design using the TRF370333 modulator and would like to use a single-ended LO input. The datasheet says in that case to terminate the LON pin with 50 ohms to ground but does not say if there is DC present on the pins. Can anyone tell me if I need a blocking cap on the pin as well, or just a 50 ohm resistor to ground?
Thanks,
Russ
Hi Russ,
I imagine you are using this on the TRF3703 EVM. There is a blocking cap populated on board (C2, 100pF) that should be sufficient.
Does this help?
Carissa
Hi Carissa,
No I am not using the EVM. I am designing my own board and I want to use a single ended LO input. I looked at the schematic for the TSW3003 EVM that uses the TRF370333 but it uses a balanced LO input. I will go ahead and use a blocking cap to be safe if nobody knows for sure.
