TRF371125 base band output while IC not enabled.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TRF371125

I want to inject a signal to the ADC input (which is connected to TRF371125 base band output) while the TRF371125 is not enabled (pin 3 = "0"). Is it in tri-state mode (Hi-Z)? Can I inject a 2Vp-p differential sine signal riding on a common mode voltage of 1.5V?

This is for production testing of the ADC and DSP part.

Thanks, Victor Koren.

  • No, I do not think that will work.  The output will still "look" like a low impedance op-amp output which will likely load down your signal.  You may be able to slowly modulate the Vcm control voltage of the TRF3711 if you just need a course capture of the ADC.  I have never tried that before but it may work to exercise the ADC codes.
