PLL/VCO requirements

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMX2492

Yes, i am looking a PLL.

Here are the basic requirements:

1)      differential charge-pump control.

2)      PFD comparison frequency up to 200MHz

3)      Integer N divider for feedback divider.

4)      VCO input up to 7GHz

Does TI have anything?

  • Sounds like you want an external VCO input and differential charge pump outputs.

The LMX2492 can cover this frequency with the VCO.

Also, it has 4 IO pins of MUXout, TRIG1, TRIG2, and MOD.

There are many signals that can be multiplexed to these pins.  The two of special interest for the differential charge pump outputs are "Output CPUP" and "Output CPDN".  The intention of these states are they are the up and down pulses to the charge pump that could be used to drive your differential charge pump curciut.

    Regards,
