GC5328: Is hardware design support available?

Part Number: GC5328

Hello,

Is there an evaluation board or reference design with the GC5328 digital pre-distortion IC available?

Also, from where is the download for TMS320C6727 DPD optimization software available? Is there a user guide as well?

Thanks & Regards,

Ojonav Hazarika

  • Ojonav,

The GC5328 is in life time buy status and therefore I believe the EVM has been discontinued

For the TMS320C6727 question, it is best to address it in the processor forum so the experts over there can address your question.

  • Hello,

The GC5322, GC5325, GC5328 devices were all in the Integrated Digital Transmitter, Crest Factor Reduction, and Digital Predistortion.  The Evaluation Modules for this product family were not sold.   The second generation of GC5330, GC5337, GC6016 devices included both the Integrated Digital Transmitter, Crest Factor Reduction, and Digital Predistortion, and Digital Receiver.  These was on the TI store the GC6016 EVM for sale.    There is a third generation Digital Tranmitter / Digital Receiver / JESD204B / and Floating Point DSP, ARM integrated processor, with peripherals, TCI6630K2L / 66aK2L06 device.

The DPD software was provided as a built in application, not as source code for GC5322.  The C6727 is an audio processor, that was used for its floating point capability.

In the GC5330 family the C6748 DSP, or L138 DSP/ARM (used on GC6016 EVM) was used for control and DPD processing.  Again the software was provided as an application, not DPD source code.  There is no current plan to support the GC533x/6016 family, the EVM schematic / layout could be provided.  The EVM is not currently for sale.  If you have a local TI Field Application Engineer, or TI Distributor engineer, they can contact Kang, and we can send the data set privately (ie not on the forum).

In the TCI6630K2L, there is an eInfochips EVM that can be purchased " www.ti.com/.../xtcievmk2lx ".    There is software for the TCI6630K2L called RFSDK, again where control and DPD library can be used (small cell LTE application) that can be used with HSP JESD Data converters.  " http://www.ti.com/tool/rfsdk

There are 3rd party providers that sell integrated data converters and TCI6630K2L as an OEM module, Comm Agility Ltd, or have design assistance Azcom Ltd.
