ADS58J89EVM: Unable to use software trigger with ADS56J89EVM when paired with TSW14J56

Hi,

I have been having difficulty trying to get the software trigger to function on the TSW14J56 when paired with a ADS56J89EVM. I have successfully used the same TSW14j56EVM with software trigger (Trig Out A to Trig In) with a ADC32RF45EVM. I know that the trigger out signal is present as I have observed it with a o-scope and seen it work AFTER using it with the ADS56J89EVM.

Please advise.

I am looking into this. Does normal capture, without using the software trigger work for you?

Normal capture works without the software trigger.

HI Eben,

I was wondering if you have been able to look into this issue any further? I have been using the system described above with the ADC32RF45 and successfully used the software trigger many times. It is only when I mate the TSW14J56 with the ADS58J89 that it doesn't appear to be working. The PCB for the ADS58J89EVM is Rev C and the PCB rev of the TSW14J56EVM is E. You had provided a file for me to use with the J89 in another thred. Might these be related?

Hi Matthew,

You will need a different firmware to be able to use software trigger for this device. Here is a link to download the firmware:

You also need to do the following:

1) Edit the Interface name in the targeted Ini file to point to the new firmware ‘TSW14J56REVD_RX_ALT_SYNC_LVDS_AC_DC_GAIN_FW’
ADC Ini Files path are available in the HSDC Pro installed path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments\High Speed Data Converter
Pro\14J56revD Details\ADC files
2) Copy the downloaded firmware to Firmware folder under 14J56revD Details path of HSDC Pro
C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments\High Speed Data Converter Pro\14J56revD Details\Firmware
3) Copy the IID Lookup table csv file you downloaded and replace the one in HSDC Pro installed path
C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments\High Speed Data Converter Pro\14J56revD Details
