FDC1004-Q1: Material Size Detection FDC1004-Q1

Part Number: FDC1004-Q1

Hi all,

I have read from the datasheet that the applications of FDC1004Q can be used for material size detection. I have tried to measurement various kind of liquid such as accu water, mineral water, and be reagent (aquadest) water. But the raw output value of MSB and LSB always 0111111111111111 and LSB = 1111111100000000.

In this case I use two parallel of plat electrodes, which the length and the width of the electrodes 3 cm x 1cm and the distance between two electrodes 3mm. The two parallel of plate electrodes are inserted into a liquid filled-container. Is with this design FDC1004Q can measure the liquid?

  • Hi Tanto,

The term "material size" refers to different sizes of conductive electrodes.

For various liquids to be distinguishable, their dielectric constants have to be noticeably different.

When you insert the electrodes into the container, are they in direct contact with the liquid? The electrodes cannot be in direct contact with the liquid.

    Regards,
    Yibo
