We have a customer who is asking the following:

Can the FCD1004 be used to detect moisture in paper?

If not, is there another device we could recommend to the customer to detect moisture in paper?

Hello Gabe,
If the change in moisture is produces a capacitance change that is large enough then the FDC can detect it. We have a design that detects ice build-up using the FDC which also explains more of the details. I would recommend taking a look at the following TI Design: www.ti.com/.../tida-01465
