DRV5053-Q1: Hall effect sensor

Part Number: DRV5053-Q1

Hi

I got DRV 5053 Hall effect Bipolar analog output magnetic sensor.

I want to know what is the Minimum and maximum gauss value of sensing...??

Regards

Yuvaraj

  • Yuva,

First determine what sensitivity variant of the device you have. For example, the EA variant (DRV5053EA) has a typical sensitivity (S) of 45 mV/mT.

Also note, that the output voltage will not exceed 1.8V or go below 0.2V. Also, at 0-Tesla, the output voltage is 1.02V (VQ) typically. Since the output is linear you can determine the typical minimum and maximum gauss values with following equations:

    Max gauss sense = (1.8V - 1.02V)/S = 17.33 mT

    Minimum guass sense = (0.2V - 1.02V)/S = -18.22 mT

Please read through datahseet for more information.

Also note, that the calculations above are with typical values. The sensitivity (S) for EA variant can at a maximum be 70mV/mT. You will need to design for this worst case, or calibrate/measure the sensitivity of your device. The quiescent output (VQ) can also vary slightly.

    Sincerely,

    Peter Iliya
