HDC1080: Humidity detection accuracy of HDC1080

Part Number: HDC1080

Hello,Expert

I have three question about HDC1080.

My customers are having trouble getting the accuracy of the HDC1080.

①How long can I leave after reflow ?

I want to know the leave  time and condition.

②When left in a dry state(RH30%) for about 2 weeks,

how much does humidity accuracy affect?

If you have data, I would like you to share it.

③HDC1080 has a heater function.

Do you have documents about how to use the heater function?

  • Hi Fukazawa-san,

    regarding your questions:

    1. The reflow should not impact the accuracy of the HDC1080: after reflow, the accuracy should drift of 1-2%of RH, but it should be recovered in a couple of days.
    2. RH=30% is inside the recommended operating conditions, so it should not impact the accuracy of the device.
    3. Unfortunately at the moment we don't have a document describing the heater function of the HDC1080. We are going to release it soon based on the feedback and request we got on this forum

Please let me know should you have any doubts or need further information.

    Best regards,

  • Hi,Carmine-san

Thank you for your about ①②③ questions.
I have additional questions about HDC 1080.

    <About after reflow>

When reflow soldering the HDC1080, the moisture inside the sensor is heated by the heat at the time of reflow.
Because it will be pulled out, I have heard when humidity can not be measured precisely for a while after soldering.
After reflow soldering this HDC1080, measure the humidity accurately.
Is there any act that you must do to do?
(For example, after reflow soldering, left for 24 hours in an environment with a humidity of 60% RH, etc.)
