HDC1000: Can work at altitudes of 3000 meters above the sea level

Part Number: HDC1000

I want to measure temperature and Humidity in Houses that are located at an Altitude of 3000 meters above the sea level. I want to know if the sensor readings are accurate at that altitude or I need to do some calibration, to have the correct readings?

Also, these sensors will connect to a microcontroller with a 5-meter cable, can I reach this distances by using only the I2C bus or do I need to use UART transmission with a protocol converter for more precision?
