HDC2010: Vapor phase soldering

Part Number: HDC2010

Is it possible to solder the humidity sensor ic in vapor phase?

  • Hi Philipp,
DO you mean that during soldering process the environment (air) will be in vapor phase? If the sensor is exposed to moisture, it could recover it original properties after it completely dries. If that is your question I don't expect any problem from a sensor perspective.

On the same note, we strongly recommend to do not hand solder the HDC2010 and with the automatic soldering process is mandatory to use a NO CLEAN flux.
NO CLEAN flux is a flux that doesn’t required to wash the PCB with acid to remove the flux. As you can easily understand the acid can damage/modified the sensing element .

Please refer to the following application notes if you need additional details.
