HDC2010: Design Requirement: HDC2010 must be positioned away from heat sources on the PCB

Part Number: HDC2010

Dear Sir, Madam,

As design requirement stated in datasheet, as below.

"In order to correctly sense the ambient temperature and humidity, the HDC2010 must be positioned away from heat sources on the PCB. It must not be close to the LCD and battery."

Can HDC2010 be placed on the same board as MCU? If yes, what is the safety distance between HDC2010 and MCU?

Thank you very much.

  • Hi Hong,
The HDC2010 sensor can be placed on the same board as the MCU and other components. The techniques for good thermal isolation are keep a safe distance and also isolate the sensor using some layout techniques. Please refer to the following app notes for a detailed description and good examples.
