Regarding Figure 3. RP vs Distance on page 7 of the datasheet of LDC1000

Hi Sir/Madam,

My Service Request number is SR#1-1798006085 , We are using LDC1000-Q1 IC in our project,we are getting proximity data information from IC and we have a formula to calculate Rp,but using Rp information how can we find Target distanc? and Is their any formula to find?, if their,please share with us.

Hello,

Distance to target depends on the geometry of the target and its electrical and magnetic properties. There's no simple formula to relate them.
We recommend to perform a calibration, where you record distance vs Rp measurements, and use this calibration curve to find distance during operation.
