LDC1614 faster than 10ms logging

It is only possible to set the sampling rate to 1ms if "continous logging" is dissabled.
But I need the data for postprocessing.

Is there any way to save the data if the sampling rate is set to 1ms?

Unfortunately, the current GUI can log data only at  1 sample/ 10 ms. It is a limitation of the GUI.

We are working on updating it but this could take another 1 month of time. However, I could provide you with something to work with by the end of this month.

Meanwhile, you could try to collect data directly on the I2C lines and decode it. This could help you in collecting data for post-processing.

Is it possible to do some MSP430 firmware development for the LDC1614 module using the LDC1614EVM hardware platform without using the supplied GUI? In other words, can the MSP430 on this module be  directly programmed (and debugged) using a standard TI C compiler IDE ?

If the answer is yes, could you please point me towards the relevant info on TI site.

Yes, MSP430 firmware development can be performed on LDC1614 EVM. GUI is provided to help in quick development for various applications.

Code composer studio (CCS) can be used to program and debug MSP430 on LDC1614 EVM.

In case you want to develop without using GUI, you can start with EVM source code and try to modify it for your application. I have attached the source code below:

As advised, have rebuilt the Reference Project using CCSv5.5, but when trying to load the binaries to the LDC1614EVM I get a message "MSP430: error on initializing emulator: No USB FET found".

How are you trying to program LDC1614 EVM?

In case you are trying to use the debug interface, make sure you use MSP430 USB-Debug-Interface (MSP-FET430UIF)/ MSP430 launchpad.

The tool that you recommend is faster, it allows about 370 samples / second.
I guess that it is not possible to collect data any faster if the host application is running on a PC that is connected using USB2.0 because of the USB + Windows latency time.

Yes, USB interface will limit the rate of transfer of data. I hope the current data transfer rate is sufficient for your application.

Exactly. We already bought a 700$ I2C controller that also have these "USB hick-ups".

Do you know a I2C controller that is able to collect data continuously?

Generally, most I2C controllers will come with a USB interface on the other end. USB will limit the data transfer rate. Hence, you might be facing some hick-ups.

I am not sure of any I2C controller with the kind of speed you will need. I will update you on the same if I get any information.
