Just received my LDC1000EVM, downloaded and installed software version 1.0.4.1.

Plug in EVM and run software and I get the update dialog to update the EVM firmware to be in sync with GUI.

Clicked through the dialogs and the downloading started.

Then at some point it was complaining about a file being incorrect, and then sits in loop doing the same over and over and never completing.

Now the device seems dead/bricked. When I plug it in to USB, no flashing lights and no USB device detected!!!

Please help

I am sorry you are having problems with the EVM. Please try to use the tools menu of the LDC1000 GUI to reflash the FW.

Chris, thanks for the reply, luckily my FAE ordered two kits, so he delivered the other as well. I do however now want to fix this one. Can you tell me which file I should download. I see that the LDC1000EVM software does still detect the board (I think in BSL mode)

Hello Ivor,

Please select the Tools menu on the GUI and select Flash FW. Then navigate to the installation directory of the GUI (you should be there by default), and then go to the Firmware subdirectory. The FW is a text file located in the subdirectory.

Chris, I tried the download again handmade some screenshots to clarify the problem. I use the file found in the folder as described by you, but after going to about 50%, the upgrader says it is incorrect version.

I suppose I should have checked this earlier.... but the problem is with upgrading through the virtual machine.

Upgraded the unit on a native windows 7 and it worked fine.
