Resolution of inductance measuerment

Hello,

how can i determine the resolution of the LDC1000 for the measured inductance expressed in henry?

The datasheet states 24 bit resolution, but across which range?

Kind regards,

Markus Schyma

  • The 24 bits of measurement resolution correspond to the minimum sensor frequency (5kHz) maximum response time setting (6144) with the highest reference frequency (8MHz). So, with a 1nF cap, this would be 1H to 1uH of range, with 121nH of resolution (although the codes are not uniformly distributed). This assumes the sensor RP can be driven by the LDC1000. With a different sensor capacitor the range and resolution will be different.
