Multiple LDC1614 with I2C Address

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LDC1614

Hello,

I want to use multiple LDC1614 with I2C Bus as slaves and one microcontroller as master. Is it possible to buy the chip with different default adress? If I have to change address manually it will be written to RAM or Flash and be saved? Or do I have to change it manually every time when I supply power?

Best Regards,

Tim

  • Hello Tim,

The LDC161x device includes an ADDR input pin, which allows selecting between 2 different I2C addresses. For more than 2 devices, you will need to use additional I2C buses. Or, you can put some LDC161x devices into Shutdown. If you do that, you can have 2 LDC devices active at any given time on one I2C bus, but more LDC161x devices attached but in Shutdown.

    Other approaches include I2C muxes.
