Hello!

I recently recived a ldc1000evm that im supposed to evaluate. But i cant get it to work. I have version 1.8.8 of the GUI and when i connect the sensor it connects and disconnects all the time.

so the sensor behaves like this:

1 sec connected, 10 sec disconnected, 1 sec connected, 10 sec disconnected and so on.

Does anyone have a solution for this?

Hello Lennie,
It sounds like you have an old firmware. Please install the old LDC1000 EVM Software GUI (www.ti.com/.../snac058), allow the GUI to upgrade the firmware, and then switch back to the new Sensing Solutions EVM GUI Tool v1.8.8.
I apologize about the complicated procedure; we are currently working on fixing this.

Hello Lennie,
please also consider our more recent additions to the LDC portfolio:
our high-resolution multi-channel LDCs (LDC1612, LDC1614)
our mid-resolution multi-channel LDCs (LDC1312, LDC1314)
and our high-resolution high-speed LDC1101

Compared to the LDC1000, these devices offer lower power consumption and superior performance in most applications, and they are easier to use.

Hi Lennie,

I would also like to mention that you may also find a pleasant surprise when it comes to price; for example, even though the LDC1101 has many significant improvements compared to the LDC1000, it is also cheaper.

Hello Ben,

I am actually having the same problem that Lennie had, so I was trying to follow the same solution, but when I try to get access in your link to the previous GUI version (snac058) the page is not found.

My conditions are:

Windows 8.1 Pro
LDC1000EVM
GUI v1.8.8

How to proceed?

Hi Jose,

I got it! The reference is a bit criptic because even it specifies that the file use is not recommended.

Anyway, problem fixed. By the way, is there any user manual for the GUI v1.8.8?? If I am right, the one that is in the web is for the previous version.

Hello Jose,
some PCs have an issue with connection of our EVMs. If the EVM disconnects in the GUI a second after connecting, try to leave the device manager open in the background. It is a bizarre work-around, but seems to be effective for the few people who have reported connection issues. Our software team is looking for the root cause and and a more permanent fix.
