LDC1101 datasheet questioin Fig.59

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LDC1101

Hello expert,

My customer is asking LDC1101 datasheet, snosd01c, Fig.59 description. Can you kindly provide the information?

  1. Detail test environment, method and device condition.
  2. Definition of LHR measurement resolution in Y-axis.

Thank you for your support.

Best regards,

Daisuke KAWASAKI

  • Hello Kawasaki-san,

Figure 59 was collected with a linear position slider. A PCB coil was connected to the LDC1101 at a fixed distance and used as the sensor. A metallic plate was then moved towards the sensor with very fine increments (Δdistance). At each increment, the LDC1101 output was sampled many times to determine the mean value (mdata) and the standard deviation (σdata). The mean value of the output code at the current position is subtracted from the output code mean at the previous position (Δdata). Then you can correlate the results to the distance standard deviation (σdistance)  with the following formula. σdistance = σdata * (Δdistance / Δdata). This result can be expressed in µm as shown in figure 59.
