LDC1101EVM: problem with the driver and software GUI

Hello,

I bought before 3 days LDC1101EVM inductive sensor, i tried to install the driver (MSP430-Example USB) but the driver is not detected by the windows. i tried to point the windows to search in the software folder and to the development folder but without any result. Then i downloaded the LDC1000EVM software file then the windows detected the driver and the driver is installed with name of (EVM). after that i have run the software GUI for LDC1101EVM but it did not detect the device or any port. Then i tried to run the LDC1000EVM software GUI, the software detected the device but it says the firmware is higher than the required. i attached some photo explain the problem.

please help,

Hi Mohammed,

The COM port can only be accessed by one software at a time so ensure only the LDC1101 GUI is running. In addition you will need to install NI VISA Run Time.

Hello,

I have the same problem as Mohammed's. And I install NI VISA Run Time 14.0.1. But my computer cannot find LDC1101 when I keep LDC1101GUI running. The communication driver (MSP430-Example USB) is not installed when I connect the board to PC first time as the User's Guide said.

Do you have any solution? Please help.

Hi Ding,

Sorry for all the trouble with the GUI. I will be incorporating the LDC1101 in the Sensing Solutions GUI soon so this should alleviate most of the problems.

For now, were you able to install the driver for the MSP430 (you can verify it under COM ports in the device manager)? The first time you run the GUI, you need to run it as an administrator.

Thank you for your quick reply.

At the beginning, I can't install the driver for MSP430. So I download the LDC1000EVM GUI and install it as Mohammed did. Then my computer find the board successfully when I plug it in.

Anyway, the board can work normally now.
