LDC1614: Data channel error flag information

Part Number: LDC1614

Good evening,

we are developing a new instrument with two LDC1614 chip onboard.

My question is about the bit nr. 12 of each conversion result MSB register, the CHn_ERR_AE.

I don't understand well the correlation between CHn_ERR_AE and AH_ERR2OUT and AL_ERR_2OUT.

Is CHn_ERR_AE a general (both high/low) amplitude error?

To activate CHn_ERR_AE I need to set both AH_ERR2OUT and AL_ERR_2OUT, or only one is enough?

The situation is instead clearer for the Under/Over range and watchdog errors where I have direct correlation between UR_ERR2OUT and CHn_ERR_UR, OR_ERR2OUT and CHn_ERR_OR and so on.

Thank you in advance for the cooperation.

Best regards

Christian.

  • Hi Christian,

The CHn_ERR_AE bit is a general amplitude error warning. This bit reports a logic OR of AH_ERR2OUT and AL_ERR_2OUT.

To activate the CHn_ERR_AE flag, only one of AH_ERR2OUT and AL_ERR_2OUT needs to be 1.
