IWR1642BOOST: How to capture range information of IWR1642BOOST

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: IWR1642

Hello,

Please let me know how to capture range information of IWR1642BOOST.
And I want to store the range information into PC.

I think that "Capture Demo" can capture only ADC raw data and not capture range information.

Best Regards,

Nomo

  • Hello Nomo,

You can use the "capture_demo.m" MATLAB file to plot the range information from your saved ADC data from the Capture Demo. This file is located at C:\ti\mmwave_sdk_01_00_00_05\packages\ti\demo\xwr16xx\capture\gui.

Alternatively, the mmWave Demo Visualizer can be used to view range information of detected objects in real time.

  • Hello Adrian,

    Thank you for your reply.
I will try to do your advice.

By the way, is there any way to output the range information (not ADC data) from IWR1642?

    Best Regards,

    Nomo

  • Hello Nomo,

To do this I would recommend consulting the SDK doxygen document for the mmWave Demo found at C:\ti\mmwave_sdk_01_00_00_05\packages\ti\demo\xwr16xx\mmw\docs\doxygen\html.

The document should be titled "index.html".

In this document you can find the structure of the output data sent to the host which contains the number of detected objects and the list of the detected objects as well as the range information of these objects.

    Regards,

    Adrian
