AWR1243: AWR1243

Part Number: AWR1243

Hi.

I would like to master slave two AWR1243.

In order to do so:

1- what is the appropriate connectivity between the master and the slave of the 20GHz Clk?

2- It is mentioned that the slave FM_CW_SYNCOUT pin can be used as a loop back. How? to which pin it should be connected in the master, if at all? When you mention loopback, what did you have in mind, since the datasheet is pretty thin with information about that.

3- When using Master/Slave configuration, how should the low frequency CLK be connected?

4- What is the appropriate configuration for the Sync_in, Sync_out pins?

5- Is there a more detailed documentation about Master/Slave configuration?

Thanks!

  • Hello Yuval,

You can refer to the below diagram for the FM_CW_SYNC signals . The FM_CW_SYNCOUT from the master is split into two and fed to the slave and also back to the master (on the FM_CW_SYNCIN pin). This is done to make it easier to match the traces for the LO for both the devices.

We will get back to you on the other details.

    Regards,

    Vivek

  • Hi Vivek,

Could you please clarify the difference between the following signals of AWR1243:

    • FMCW_CLKOUT (pin B15)
    • FMCW_SYNCOUT (pin D1)
    • SYNC_OUT (pin P15)
    • OSC_CLKOUT (pin A14)

What each signal is used for?

What frequency each of the signals runs on?

In case of cascading, which master pin should be connected to which slave pin?

    Thanks.
