AWR1443boost: How to bootload rss,mss file using uniflash

Part Number: AWR1443BOOST
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH, , AWR1443

The Mmwave_uniflash_user_guide_v1.0.pdf shows a Program screen with separate fields for the RSS and MSS File

I installed the latest uniflash for mmWave, and this is not how my Program screen looks.

There is only a list of firmware files, and they are all defaulting ot Load Addr: 0x00000000. Becuase of this, attempting to download them fails due to overlapping addresses.

What's going on here? How do I download the demo code onto the AR1443EVM-010 dev kit?

Why is the AR1443EWM-010 not mentioned anywhere on the TI website, instead they seem to refer to it as the AWR1443BOOST?

  • Hello Ashley,

It looks like you have selected the wrong connection type. Please be sure to choose 'Serial Connection' on the 'New Configuration' screen. From what I can see, you have chosen the XDS110 USB Debug connection.

    Regards,

    Adrian
  • There is no way to change the connection type. When I select AWR1443 (Serial) as the device, it forces the connection to be the XDS110 USB Debug Probe, and there is no way to change it.

  • Hello Ashley,

It looks like UniFlash has just released an update that has changed how things work. Can you try changing the setting to 'Manual' under the 'Detected Devices' tab and see what happens? It is working fine on my end with this new update with the setting on manual. Also, please be sure to close UniFlash and re-open it after changing.

    Regards,

    Adrian
  • I have only been using manual mode, otherwise it never selects a device, all manual mode does is take you to the chip selection screen so you pick the chip (AWR1443) directly.

  • Hello Ashley,

Sorry for the late response, I have been out of the office for the past two weeks. Based on the screen shot in your earlier post, it looks like it is in auto detect mode. Please make sure your screen looks like the following:

When I have it in auto mode, it also selects the XDS110 connection type, which is incorrect. When I change it to manual and restart UniFlash, after selecting the device it detects a serial connection as desired.

    Regards,

    Adrian
