IWR1642BOOST: Maximum velocity and velocity resolution

Part Number: IWR1642BOOST
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: IWR1443BOOST, , IWR1642

Hello,

Our application requires high velocity and fine velocity resolution. Higher than it is possible to set up in the mmWave Demo Visualizer.

I used mmWave Sensing Estimator tool to find and verify our required sensing parameters and estimator says that the parameters are valid.

But when I send the configuration command through the demo visualizer I get the message 'Error-1'.

My questions are:

(1) It is that possible to use this configuration or similar with the Out of Box demo?

(2) If it is not possible to use it with the out of box demo. What is the best way to reach functional solution with the IWR1642BOOST (or IWR1443BOOST) board with required sensing parameters?

Thank you

Pavel

  • Hi Pavel,

This question has been discussed here: e2e.ti.com/.../2283738

In essence, the mmWave Sensing Estimator shows that the chirp configuration will run properly on the Radar Front End of IWR1642. If you are looking to run this chirp configuration on an actual demo then I'd recommend looking at the Capture Demo in the mmWaveSDK or High Speed Data Capture with the TSW1400.

    Cheers,
