AWR1642: Cannot connect DSP through XDS110 emulator

Hi,

My customer made one own AWR1642 board, MSS can be connected, but DSS cannot be connected with below error. Customer compared the power and clock input with EVM, it is same. So any comments on the below error is welcome, thanks.

 CS_DAP_0: GEL Output: --->> DSS is under application controlled reset.  Prior to connecting this reset must be released.
CS_DAP_0: GEL Output: --->> The debugger will enable "Halt On Reset" and release the application-extended reset
C674X_0: GEL: Error while executing OnPreTargetConnect(): GEL_SetWaitInResetMode(): target does not support halt on reset
	 at GEL_SetWaitInResetMode(1)
	 at GEL_EvalOnTarget("C674X_0", "GEL_SetWaitInResetMode(1)") [xwr16xx_dss_csdap.gel:164]

Hi Andy,

Based on logs,

It seems that the DSP is not taken out of reset.

Did your customer make any progress on debugging this issue?

I Have the same problem. I use AWR1642BOOST board.
I tried to load xwr16xx_mmw.bin (mmw project) to SFLASH using UNIFLASH and mmwave_uniflash_user_guide_v1.0. Load was sucessful. But program doesnt work.
And now I have same "Device is held in reset" error when I try to connect to DSP via CCS. MSS is ok.
I need help with it.

PS: Maybe I need to erase somehow flash? I used "Format SFLASH" button, it was succesfull. But it feels like image still be in flash.

Sorry for the late reply, the issue is solved, it is need to burn the ccs debug bin firmware on flash firstly, then both MSS and DSS can be connected through JTAG.

Thank you. The problem was solved the same way. It is needed to flash "xwr16xx_ccsdebug.bin" from "c:\ti\mmwave_sdk\packages\ti\utils\ccsdebug\" to unhalt DSP. It is just unclear that ccsdebug is flashed by default.
