Other Parts Discussed in Thread: IWR1642, UNIFLASH, TM4C1294NCPDT, TIDEP-01000
Hello,
I am working on a project that utilizes IWR1642BOOST sensor. We are planning to fabricate our own version of this EVM.
It will be my first time to deal with IWR1642 chip so here's my initial questions:
- What are the ways and procedure to program a fresh-from-factory IWR1642 chip/QSPI flash? When I first received the IWR1642BOOST EVM, I was able to program it with the people counting demo binary file and Uniflash tool, but I believe the chip is already pre-programmed by TI. If we fabricate our own board, would we be able to burn the same people counting binary file on the fresh chip? Or do we need to burn any bootloader/image first to enable programming of user images?
- We are also planning to retain the XDS110 portion onboard, which in my understanding, is the gateway to directly program the IWR1642 via USB. However, would the TM4C1294NCPDT chip in it also needs to be pre-programmed? Or should we buy a stand alone XDS110 debug probe to program the IWR1642 chip?
- It says in TIDEP-01000 that the system use 2 watts only but the EVM requires 5V-2.5A input. How much really is the actual current consumption of the EVM? For the initial revision of our board, we will retain the 5V-2.5A input but for succeeding versions, will it be possible to power up the system via USB - 500mA since it's using 2 watts only?
This is all for now. I will probably have more questions as we go through the design. Thank you so much!
