When use IWR1642BOOST connect Matlab .Show the Error Message(Can not start com ports not connected . Please select and connect) .

It is the matlab support package for webcams has not been installed ??

Does the device need a webcams?

Or the other problem ??

Can you clarify, are you trying to run the Matlab source code or the .exe for the visualizer?

People counting does not require a webcam. It is an option for users who want to display a webcam video feed for ground truth reference to compare to the radar output.

If running the source code, the webcam sections can either be commented out or the webcam package can be installed: www.mathworks.com/.../installing-the-webcams-support-package.html

A Webcam does not need to be connected. You do, however, need to make sure you connect the gui to the IWR1642 through the com ports.

You will see 3 jumper pins next to each other. SOP0 should remain connected(You will have a Black Plastic jumper on top of it). Make sure you do not have any jumper on the other 2. It should look like the image on www.ti.com/.../IWR1642BOOST [Click on the picture to zoom in]

What do you mean the jumper??

My device is the same as shown on the picture, making sure there are no jumpers.

Before moving to the people counting demo, please ensure that you can run the standard out of box demo successfully.

Here is a training video that shows how the board should be used and how to remove a jumper for SOP2. 

Please confirm that you can run this demo first to better understand your issues.

Please confirm whether your board and PC configuration is correct by trying the out of box demo as previously linked.

Once we know whether the out of box demo works then we can more easily debug any issue with the people counting demo.

Do you have a Matlab license? Can you run the visualizer from the main_pplcount_viz.m file?

If yes, I would suggest trying:
1. Modify line 10 to sceneRun = 'Prgm_MaxFOV''
2. Modify lines 16 and 17 to your COM ports
3. Modify line 110 to mmw_pplcount_demo_default.cfg

After about 5 minutes, the port not connect error message will appear.and the window will disappear automatically.

Yes, I am suggesting that if you have a valid Matlab license then to try modifying and running the source code instead of the .exe.

So should use uniflash software to perform people counting?

In the search directory, look for \ti\<mmwave_industrial_toolbox_install_dir>\labs\lab0011-pplcount. Discovered projects do not have option for pplcount_16xx_dss and pplcount_16xx_mss.

Before trying to compile source in CCS, please confirm whether you have been able to follow the Quickstart guide to flash the pre-compiled xwr16xxx_pcount_lab.bin using Uniflash and use the pplcount_gui.exe visualizer?

YES . Now can use  Uniflash and use the pplcount_gui.exe visualizer

Now want to go to the next step and import the CCS project,

but  have been parked here, as shown in the figure.
