AFE4490SPO2EVM: Record More than 750.000 Samples

Part Number: AFE4490SPO2EVM

Hello. The software of the AFE4490SPO2EVM doesn´t record more than 750.000 samples. For this reason, I can´t record more than 16 minutes (using 750Hz), and this is a big disadvantage. I want to know if there is a posibility to have another version of the software without any record limit, or maybe I can modify this limit, to be able to capture more samples. My software version is 2.0.

Thank you in advance.]

  • Hi Odei,

I'm looking into this and I will reply as soon as I have an answer.

  • Hi Odei,

I've run measurements on 750Hz,as you did, and indeed we have this limitation in the GUI.

Unfortunately, you cannot achieve this directly through the GUI Capture&Analysis tab.

If we have any other ideas of how to achieve this, we will let you know.

For that purpose, could you tell us a little bit about your application and what you are trying to achieve?

Is this for any specific project you have in mind?

    Thank you,

    Simon

  • Hello.

Its clear that using 750.000 samples you can´t record enought time to be able to see the variations in the recording (human parameters) during an hour or more (continuous recording). This is a big dissadvantage because before the final development of the chip (and this is the main purpose of the evaluation kit), its neccesary to explore almost all the cases (continuous recording, simulating some real situations), just to see if the development is viable or not.

For this reason we think that inside the GUI Software maybe is easy to enlarge the samples, maybe to be able to record 2 hours (5.400.000 samples at 750Hz), I don´t want 10 hours, of course. Could you do something more?

    Thanks in advance.

    Odei.

  • Hi Odei,

It makes a lot of sense of doing this continuous reading to cover all scenarios, as you say.

We're looking into the feasibility of making these changes.

We'll get back to you with some information about it.

    Regards,

    Simon

  • Hi Odei,

I want to better understand your scenario, to see what our possibilities are.

Do you want a part from the large continuous capture also live data analysis?

Also, do you want to capture data on a specific subset of channels, let's say 2 or do you want to capture on all 6 channels of data?

This info can give us some pointers on how to proceed further.

    Thanks,

    Simon

  • Hi Odei,

I assume you were able to solve your situation somehow.
I'm going to go ahead and close the thread.

Don't hesitate to contact us if you need any future guidance.

    Thanks,
    Simon
