DDC316: DIN_Config - Set for every conversion cycle?

Hi,

Really simple question - couldn't quite figure it from the datasheet..

Does the 16bit configuration register have to be set for each conversion cycle or  once written to will it remain set for subsequent cycles (as long as it remains powered up)?
