OPT8241-CDK-EVM: opt8241

Part Number: OPT8241-CDK-EVM

Hello, I have the following questions:

1.  How does the opt8241 coordinate system build? How about the xyz axis?Where is the origin? How do I know the coordinates accurately?

2.  When I use MetrilusLongRange calibration, the measured depth and the actual depth is always a difference of 7 cm,why?

3. Do I need to re-calibrate when I conduct my own application? Can I use factory calibrations like MetrilusLongRange directly?

  • 1. The origin is at the OPT8241 imaging area's center. On the OPT8241-CDK-EVM is it right beneath the lens. Z-axis points out of the camera lens, X is to the left, Y points up.

    2. At what distance did you get 7cm offset? Did you made some adjustment while in that profile? It sounds like the common offset calibration is off.

    3. You will need to re-calibrate if you are operating at different frequency, illumination power, changed lens, changed de-aliasing setting. Integration duty cycle and frame rate may have smaller impact.
