CCS/AFE4404EVM: Problem with AFE4404EVM and CCS 8.0.0.00016

Hi!

I am using the AFE4404EVM with the CCS 8.0.0.00016. I successfully built the code but when trying to run, it shows the error:

MSP430: Error initializing emulator: No USB FET was found.

How can I fix the problem?

Hi Nam,

Can you verify that the USB FET is detected properly in the PC by looking at Device manager of the PC?

I only use the USB-C connection and here is what show up in my device manager.

Do I miss anything?

Hi Nam,

You need USB FET programmer to run the new firmware on the EVM in the debug mode.
This is an additional hardware and it is not supplied with AFE4404EVM.
However if you want to program the new firmware into the EVM ( without debug ) you can generate the *.txt file from the CCS and follow the steps given in the section 7 of AFE4404EVM to load it into the CCS.

Hello Nam,

To program the MSP430 through JTAG, you will need the FET programmer tool and a special JTAG connector cable from Tag-Connect.
