The resolution of OPT8241+OPT9221 solution is 320 x 240 pixels. Resolution of sensor is fixed. For depth resolution details, kindly go through the system designer guide .

For the resolution, 

Why not use high resolution sensor to achieve more accuracy ? 

What's the different between conventional CMOS/CCD sensor and ToF ?  (so that ToF has low resolution)

How to improve resolution in the future ?

Please show some principle or explanation.

Hi Ian,

This document gives an introduction about ToF, operating principle etc. Increasing the resolution will also result in higher power, speed requirements, cost etc hence it is not a trivial decision. There are many techniques to improve the depth accuracy for a given application. I did not understand your question " How to improve resolution in the future ?".
