ADC value is not reflecting in DAC register

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PGA900

I compile sample code and pga900.hex is generated. Currently I am facing 2 problems.

Problem #1:

PGA 900 EVM is configured in voltage mode. Supply voltage is 12V. Sample code is loaded to core. Now PADC_DATA is changing according to input analog voltage.  But DAC_REG0 is not updating according to sample code.

Problem #2:  Without PGA900 IC in EVM board voltage at J12 (OWI) pin is 5V. But with PGA 900 IC voltage at J12 (OWI ) is becoming 7.5 V. Can anybody tell the reason for the same?

  • Sebin,

The sample code available on TI.com does not provide a way to update the DAC code without some user modification of the code. The sample code is only a base code to get you up and running and ready to implement your own algorithm.

The OWI circuitry adjusts and compensates for changes in current consumption to maintain the proper 5V levels for OWI. Make sure to configure the Rloop and Additional Voltage values in the PGA900 GUI (found under OWI Configuration) to make sure that the compensation is working correctly.
