tmp100 bus address pin connection

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMP100, TMP101

Hello,

Looking at the tmp100 Datasheet I don't see how to connect the add0 and add1 pins to get the device to work properly.

Do we need to use pull up or pull down resistors to program each add0 and add1 pin? in this case what is the recommended value of pull up/down resistors?
OR
Is it enough to strap the add0 or add1 pin directly to V+ or GND?

Please advice because I found both implementation on ti.com and I don't know which one is the right approach.

Thanks in advance.

  • Hi Nico,

Hope things are doing great in France. The serial bus address information can be found on Page 8 of the datasheet. You can connect the pins to V+, GND or leave it Floating. Take a look at the combinations below. No pull-up resistors are required on the address pins. In the application section (Page 5) you can find the recommendations for Typical Connections. In there we specified that only SCL, SDA and Alert (TMP101) require pull-up resistors.  Hope this helps!

    Take Care!
