TMP006 and TMP006B

Hi Peter,

Both TMP006 and TMP006B require voltage range of 2.2V to 5.5V. There are places online that reference to 3.6V mistakenly. It will be corrected in the future revision.

The only difference between these two devices is that TMP006B can interface with other devices through a 1.8V I2C bus directly, simplifying the design.

The best source for TMP421 would be the product data sheet. There is a wealth of information at the application information section. It details how the typical connection looks like, how the remote channel should be utilized, how to configure the device and make measurements.

You can also find detailed I2C bus information. These are the steps to follow to communicate with the device. If you are just starting out to work with the device, I would begin with a very basic operation, such as reading the local temperature. It would be the quickest to establish communication with the device and verify overall setup. From there you can expand the capability.
