Adding External Temperature Sensor to TI CC2530

Hello Everyone,

I am currently working with the CC2530 development kit and need to use an external temperature sensor (TMP102) rather than the inaccurate sensor internal to the CC2530 chip.

Where I am struggling is how and where to write the code to interface with and take readings from this temperature sensor? What code files do I need to modify and what do I need to do to them in order to get this temperature sensor to work properly?

Hi Ben,

TMP102 is a two wires interface protocol, and it shouldn't be a problem communicate via I2C or SMBus compatible. I'm not sure if we have a firmware source code for specific CC2530 because there are so many microcontrollers out there that we can't have them all. Let's me check and get back to you.

Hi Aaron,

This link was useful, but I am still struggling with how exactly to modify my code? I am not exactly sure what methods I need to use from i2c to be able pull data from the TMP102. Do you have any suggestions?
