Our customer use the TMP112, have a question.

How about the sequence of recovery from timeout event?

Does it needed reset the device?

TMP112 has a 30ms time out which is compatible with the SMBus spec.

In the event that TMP112 is controlling the SDA line, and 30ms passes without a SCL event, the TMP112 will abort communication and release the SDA line.

No additional action is needed.

Is it OK the master device only generates a START condition when communication restart?

Yes, a normal START is sufficient. No special action is needed.
