TMP007: wind effect

Dear Technical Support Team,

 

TMP007 datasheet describes a precision below.

 

±1°C (max) from 0°C to +60°C

±1.5°C (max) from 40°C to +125°C

 

Does wind affect this precision?

Our customer would like use it for FAN.

 

If it is yes , do you have a data of precision vs wind?

Previously they used a thermopile temp sensor of other vendor and then it is affected by wind.

 

So they'd like to know it.

  • You misunderstood the datasheet. The device contains a local temperature sensor, the same as our other products, which reports the temperature of the die itself. Additionally, the IR sensor reports the temperature of a distant object. The specifications for these two sensors are separate and shown below.

    Yes, the IR sensor is affected by wind and other temperature changes. This is inherit to the technology, and not unique to TI's product as your customer has discovered.
