TMP007: Protective compound or epoxy

The documetation associated with the TMP007 shows a "protecting compound" covering the  TMP007 when using through-hole mounting as shown below.

What is the make/model of this compound?  Can you please suggest a supplier? 

  • It's a generic potting compound. I recommend using the Wurth shield instead of compound. Both serve the purpose of protecting the device from undesirable radiation or thermal events. The compound is risky, because any material which seeps underneath the device would render it inoperable.

  • Thanks; I think the problem we are up against is that the boards have already been made and there appears to be need for a covering or coating.

    It seems like a more viscous epoxy that won't wick under the device would be better.

    If you have any particular brands that have been tried, that would be a very helpful starting point. Please let us know, thanks!
