Hi Ti,

I have faced an error by using TMP421 and it happens when I am using slave address 0x4C (100 1100) with errors below.

[ 1.168339] i2c /dev entries driver

[ 3.171463] i2c i2c-0: mv64xxx: I2C bus locked, block: 1, time_left: 0

[ 5.171461] i2c i2c-0: mv64xxx: I2C bus locked, block: 1, time_left: 0

[ 5.178016] tmp421 0-004c: Could not read configuration register (-110)

[ 5.184667] tmp421: probe of 0-004c failed with error -110

Based on below schematic can you help to advise on whether any reference circuit available or how to solve this issue.

Remove R143 and R145 to create address 1001100b/4Ch. It may be alternating between other addresses with the pins biased at half supply.

R143 and R145 is never mounted, you can see it shows NC, i put in the schematic as an option to use other addresses using these pull ups. Now only only R144 and R146 mounted.

Please provide oscilloscope shots of your I2C Transactions.

I don't see a transaction. Are you sure the Master is attempting a transaction? If this is not the problem, then your bus lines are being held or shorted somewhere.
