TMP451: Remote Temperature Error vs Leakage Resistance

Part Number: TMP451

Hi,

I want ti know how does the Leakage Resistance affect the measurement temperature?

From the Figure 4. Remote Temperature Error vs Leakage Resistance, I know:The smaller the leakage resistance, the smaller the error. But how it to do?

  • Hi Shen,

The TMP451 sources very small currents which excite the remote junction (diode.) The voltage of the diode is sampled by the internal ADC, and used to calculate temperature.

Figure 4 represents error due to a portion of the current taking a separate path to GND or V+. It means that some of the current which is intended to excite the remote junction is lost.

    Thanks,
    Ren
